Massachusetts Plymouth Public Library and Plymouth Public Library Corporation support lifelong learning and the reading enjoyment of the community.
The primary purpose of the Plymouth Public Library Corporation (PPLC) is to enhance the ability of the Plymouth Public Library to provide outstanding services and resources to the community in a variety of accessible formats and locations. The PPLC is committed to securing financial support, increasing awareness of Library services and programs, and planning for the future.
The PPLC endeavors to raise funds to sustain the Library’s role as the premier townwide venue for the educational and cultural enrichment of all residents.
The PPLC coordinates fundraising for the Library. Through its efforts, the Corporation (or Foundation) supports and enhances cultural and educational programs and services that benefit all who use the library.

The Beginning

1811
As early as 1811, a subscription library existed in Plymouth with about 30 paying members.
1856
The Plymouth Public Library Association was incorporated in 1856 as an independent non-profit corporation dedicated to providing quality library services to the town.

1880
THe Plymouth Public Library Corporation was founded in 1880 as an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to providing Plymouth with quality library service
